Do more than exist - live.
Do more than touch - feel.
Do more than look - observe.
Do more than read - absorb.
Do more than hear - listen.
Do more than listen - understand.
Do more than think - ponder.
Do more than talk - say something.

I learned recently that Louisa May Alcott and I have something in common. She liked to run near her home in Concord, MA, and used the energy she produced while running to fuel the writing of her famous book, Little Women. For many years I've done the same thing - write in the morning, run around noon, write some more after lunch. There's a connection between the moving body and the thinking mind. Exercise is vital in building the mind-body balance that is key to boosting creativity. You don't have to run. Even just a walk through the neighborhood can invigorate your writing, painting, composing or whatever you do in profound ways.
